Tradie Website Design

A professional website for your trade business, built in days and fully managed after that. Fixed pricing from $1,500. No content management system to learn, no plugin updates, no lock-in contract. You send the photos and the job list, I do the rest.

$1,500 · $2,500 · $3,500 setup, ex GST. Then $99 a month.

Most tradie websites are sold wrong

You get quoted five grand for a custom build with lead funnels and conversion strategy, or you get offered a "free" website that turns out to be a $250 per month rental you never own. Neither of those is what a trade business actually needs.

Your customers are not browsing. They have a burst pipe, a dead switchboard, or a fence coming down. They search on their phone, look at the first few results, and call whoever looks legitimate. Your website has one job: prove you are real, competent, and easy to contact.

That is a small, well built site with your work on it and your number easy to find. It should cost a known amount, take about a week, and then stay out of your way. If you want the longer version of this argument, I wrote an honest breakdown of what tradies actually need, including the case for not building one at all.

What you get

Every trade site is built on the same foundation, whether it is one page or ten.

Loads fast on a phone

Your customers are standing in a driveway on patchy reception. The site is served as static files from an edge network, so it loads almost instantly rather than waiting on a database.

Your number, front and centre

Tap to call in the header on every page. No contact form maze, no chasing an email address. The single most common reason a trade site fails is that ringing you was too hard.

Set up for local search

Clean structure, proper headings, structured data, and a sitemap, built to work alongside your Google Business Profile rather than duplicate it.

Your jobs, photographed properly

A gallery that makes your work look like your work. Send me what is on your phone and I will crop, compress, and lay it out so it loads fast and still looks sharp.

Nothing to maintain

No plugins to update, no security patches, no admin login you forget. There is no content management system to break, which is why there is nothing to keep patched.

You own the domain

The domain is registered in your name and stays yours. If you ever leave, you take it with you. No hostage situations, no lock-in contract.

How it works

Four steps, about a week, minimal time out of your day.

1

A quick call

Fifteen minutes on what you do, where you work, and what you want the site to bring in. I tell you honestly whether a website is even the right spend.

2

You send the raw material

Your services, your area, your licence numbers, and photos off your phone. That is the whole ask. You do not need to write anything.

3

I build it

Design, copy, and build, then a link to review. You get one round of changes included, and I do not go quiet on you mid-build.

4

It goes live

I handle the domain, hosting, and SSL. After that, changes are an email to me and they are usually live the same or next day.

What it costs

Fixed setup fee, then one monthly plan. All prices ex GST. No lock-in contract and no hidden fees.

One page

$1,500

Everything on a single scrolling page. Suits a sole operator who wants to look legitimate and be easy to call.

Most common

Three to five pages

$2,500

The usual choice. Home, services, gallery, about, contact. Room to have a page per major service for local search.

Up to ten pages

$3,500

For a larger operation with multiple trades, service areas, or a team. Beyond ten pages, roughly $300 per extra page.

Care Plan

$99 per month

Hosting, SSL, security, monitoring, backups, and your content changes. Email me what needs changing and it is live within a day or two.

Care plus Visibility

$499 per month

Everything in the Care Plan, plus active SEO and AI search visibility work. Only worth it if you are actively chasing new territory.

Want to see how this compares across the whole market? I break the numbers down in what a website costs in Australia. This is the Rapid Sites service, aimed at trade businesses. If you need a site you can edit yourself, a full online store, or a blog you publish to regularly, a custom WordPress build is the better fit and I will quote that instead.

A good fit

  • Sparkies, plumbers, chippies, builders, landscapers, concreters, roofers, fencers, and anyone else running a trade business.
  • You want to stop paying per lead in the referral apps.
  • You want a known price and a known finish date.
  • You would rather email a change than log into anything.
  • You want to look established enough to quote higher.

Not the right fit

  • You need to edit the site yourself, daily. You want WordPress.
  • You are selling products online. You want an online store.
  • You publish articles regularly and want a full blog.
  • You are flat out from word of mouth and not chasing growth. Save your money, sort your Google Business Profile out instead.

Where I work

I am based in Geelong and work with trade businesses across the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast, Torquay, Ocean Grove, Bannockburn, Ballarat, and greater Melbourne. If you are local and would rather meet in person, that is easy to arrange.

Everything is done remotely by call and email, so being outside that patch changes nothing. I build for trade businesses anywhere in Australia. See more on web design in Geelong.

What clients say

I have built for service businesses across Australia for nearly 20 years, including trade businesses. These are owner-run businesses, not big brands with a marketing department.

Suncoast Express

Phil recently completed a full website re-hash and online quote, booking and payment system. We provided our outline and rate template which Phil put into practice without the need for constant questioning or how, he knew and understood the final outcome requirement and made it work. Throughout the process we had several online hookups to hash out progress which was very beneficial. We've already put him to task on another project. Thanks Phil

I was referred to Phil when starting my business. Phil went above and beyond in helping me establish my online presence, he is easy to approach, professional and knowledgeable beyond belief.

I've worked with Phil for several years, both as a client (my own business website) and referring him on to my own clients. He's top notch, super professional, proactive, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Highly recommend.

Case study

Suncoast Express

A transport and logistics operator, which is about as close to a trade business as it gets: vehicles, crews, and jobs booked over the phone. The old site was three pages with no branding and no way to get a quote. The rebuild added online quoting, booking, and payment.

Frequently asked questions

A single page site is $1,500 setup, a standard 3 to 5 page site is $2,500, and a larger site up to 10 pages is $3,500. All prices are ex GST. After that the Care Plan is $99 per month, which covers hosting, security, monitoring, and content changes. There are no hidden fees and no lock-in contract. If you want active SEO and AI visibility management on top, that plan is $499 per month.

Days, not months. Once you have sent through your details, photos, and service list, most trade sites are live within a week. The build is fast because it is a fixed scope with a clear structure, not an open-ended custom project that drifts.

Not always, and I will tell you if you do not. If your work comes entirely from repeat customers and referrals and you are already busy, a Google Business Profile alone may be enough to start. A website earns its keep when you want to win jobs from people who have never heard of you, charge more by looking established, or stop competing on price in lead-generation apps.

You do not need to, and that is deliberate. Content changes are included in the monthly plan, so you email what you want changed and it is usually live within 24 to 48 hours. That suits most trade businesses, because logging into a content management system between jobs is not realistic. If you would rather edit it yourself, a WordPress build is the better fit and I can quote that instead.

Every build includes the technical foundations: clean URLs, proper heading structure, fast load times, mobile layouts, structured data, and an XML sitemap. That gives you a solid base to rank locally. Ranking also depends on your Google Business Profile and reviews, which is why I set the site up to work alongside those rather than compete with them.

No. I am based in Geelong and work with a lot of trade businesses across the Bellarine, Surf Coast, Ballarat, and greater Melbourne, but the work is all done remotely with calls and email. I build for trade businesses anywhere in Australia.
