Project
Brave Therapy
A Sydney psychotherapy practice whose website I have looked after for more than a decade
Brave Therapy is the private practice of Andrea Szasz, a clinical psychotherapist practising in Sydney. The website began as a set of page designs from Dreamachine, the design studio who brought me in to build it and then introduced me to Andrea directly. I built it from those designs, and I have looked after it ever since. In that time the site has filled up with more than two hundred articles, and the way people use the web has changed several times over. It is still the same website, at the same address.
Project Scope
- Original website build from the designer's page designs
- Ongoing maintenance and content changes
- Move to managed Australian hosting
- Security and uptime monitoring
- Monthly care plan
The challenge
Most small practice websites get replaced every few years. The old one is thrown out, the writing is lost or half of it never makes the move, and the business starts again from nothing. Brave Therapy has never had to do that, because the site has been maintained continuously instead. The challenge in a relationship that long is keeping something built a decade ago feeling current and working properly, without ever discarding what has accumulated on it.
The specific job in 2026 was moving the whole site to new hosting. That meant hundreds of articles, every picture attached to them, and every way somebody can get in touch, all shifted across without the practice noticing and without somebody halfway through looking for a therapist hitting a page that no longer worked.
What I built
The site started as eight page designs handed over by the studio. My job was to turn them into something that worked, that Andrea could add to herself, and that would still be standing years later. It is, and the pages they drew are still the pages the site runs on today.
The original pages
The home page, the approach, Andrea's background and qualifications, the Daring with Brave Therapy workshops, the blog, the booking page, contact and links. Every one of those is still part of the site, still doing the job it was drawn to do.
Room to keep writing
The blog has grown past two hundred articles, and Andrea publishes them herself without needing me. The way the site was set up at the start has coped with every one of them, which is why it has never had to be replaced.
A move to hosting I run
In August 2026 the site moved onto a server in Sydney that I manage directly. Same web address, same pages, nothing for a visitor to notice. It sits on Australian soil, close to the people using it, properly locked down and watched around the clock, so I find out something is wrong before Andrea does.
Messages that actually arrive
Moving hosts quietly breaks the emails a website sends more often than people realise: an enquiry form that looks like it submitted and never lands anywhere. On Brave Therapy that was set up fresh and then tested with real messages, so an enquiry sent from the site lands in Andrea's inbox every time.
Across the site
Approach: how the therapy works
About: the same site on a phone
The result
The site moved in August 2026 with no interruption to the practice. Visitors used the same web address throughout, every article came across, and the contact form and booking page still worked. It now runs on a monthly care plan covering hosting, updates, security and monitoring, so it is one less thing Andrea has to hold in her head between clients.
What is unusual here is how long it has lasted. This website has outlived the design trends it was born into and more than one hosting company, because somebody has been looking after it the whole way.
If you have a practice or a small business with a website you would rather maintain than replace, that is the kind of work I do. See how I approach looking after an existing site, read about the MDT DESIGN build, or get in touch.
Phil has been looking after my website for many years now. He always been a great resource, very professional, fast and creative. I highly recommend his services.

Common questions about this project
More than a decade. I built the original site from the designer’s page designs and have maintained it ever since, through more than a hundred new articles, a long run of small changes, and a move to new hosting in 2026.
Yes. The site runs on WordPress and she writes and publishes her own articles without going through me. Bigger changes, anything technical, and everything to do with hosting and security are handled on the care plan.
The new home is built and tested in private first, so it is a working copy of the site before anyone visits it. Only once it is right does the web address start sending people there. The things that break in a careless move are links, images and the emails the site sends, so those are what get tested hardest before anything is switched.
Yes. The website side of a health practice has its own demands: credentials and qualifications have to be easy to find, the booking path has to be obvious, and an enquiry has to reach the practitioner reliably. Those are website problems, and they are the part I handle.
Both, but the long-term work is where sites like this one come from. A monthly care plan covers hosting, updates, security, monitoring and content changes, which is what stops a site quietly decaying to the point where replacing it looks like the only option.
